Well, at this writing in the middle of December, I’m about fifteen feet from where I used to sit, sort of in a closet/ utility room.
My acquaintances know I have on occasion taken the liberty to comment on life in general; I have enjoyed that aspect of the position over the years and regret that I’ll lose this public forum which permitted my indulgences. Having acknowledged my weaknesses, I’ll try to avoid making bad puns or any other random acts of impropriety as I leave the job I have enjoyed for fifteen years. It may be difficult because after fifteen years you do get an extensive notepad of things better left unsaid.
My first comment will be to the customers and policyholders of MTMIC; thank you for
your patronage; in many cases that patronage has been a very long term relationship. I greatly appreciate the opportunity I have had to work with and for you while in some cases getting to know your businesses quite well. Please continue to consider the staff of MTMIC as your partners in dealing with the one aspect of your business that will remain critical as long as you have employees.
Secondly the Directors of MTMIC need to be recognized for their endurance. Many of the current Directors were on the Board when I was first hired as the Fund Administrator in 1998. Those currently on the Board are charged with defining the direction of the Organization as it progresses and changes (as it must). Their mentoring and direction over the years has been invaluable to me and has placed the organization in an admirable position after struggling with the very difficult business years following the 2008 recession.
The third group that must be recognized is the hardworking staff of MTMIC that have made my tenure fly. Most of the staff of MTMIC have been affiliated with the organization for many years and have been my primary resource and reason for the success of the company. When I leave here, I know that MTMIC is in the good hands of the people that really care about the outcome of a claim, or the safety of your facility, or the correctness of your policy and the overall satisfaction you have with the way you have been treated. Thank you to them.
There are others that have also contributed to the MTMIC success over the years; we have great vendor relationships that have endured over the years and good relationships with the regulatory state departments.
So, I am off to Arizona to live in the desert after 66 years as a Michigan resident and native. Thanks for everything and best wishes for 2014 and beyond.
~ Thank You ~
