As a MTMIC policyholder and mutual company member, it is important I give you management updates on the company similar to my reports to the MTMIC Board of Directors. Our mid-year review is a perfect time for a MTMIC 2014 update business plan goals such as sales, loss control visits, claims activity, underwriting service and company investment status. All of these are important service standards for MTMIC policyholders.
When reviewing with the Board I use a “Green Light”, “Yellow Light” and “Red Light” approach. “Green Lights” signifying that we are on target with our goals and barring some significant change, we will meet these business goals. “Yellow Lights” informing the Board that the goal is in jeopardy and that management is refocusing and moving resources to achieve these goals. “Red Light” meaning the goal for some business reason is no longer valid or costs of the goal have exceeded the budget and the goal needs reassessment.
In our business plan, much like your process I am sure; we set department goals and then roll these up into company goals. I am pleased to report that of our 27 company/ department goals, 19 have Green lights, 6 Yellow where we are refocusing effort and 2 are Red lights and are no longer valid goals for business or budget reasons.
The reason I am sharing this information with you is to make sure you are:
- Aware that your 10 Board members provide oversight and vision of MTMIC business. They require an annually updated 3 year business plan, goals for each year, a budget for their review and approval and updates on each of these.
- That as a policyholder, you know that we have service standards and when we miss one it gets counted and we look for ways to eliminate our “miss”. And with that said, please call our department managers or ME anytime we miss or you see a way to improve our service. As part of our service review, annually we send out a MTMIC “Report Card”. This was completed in the last month. Thank you for your participation in MTMIC survey process. Your opinion helps us confirm what we do well and also things we can improve.
