We often hear companies say “our people make the difference”. And that is clearly the case at MTM. The special skill sets of MTM staff are shown in Loss Control when an immediate accident analysis is conducted after a severe plant injury. It is shown when MTM claims staff is handling a plaintiff attorney on a litigated claim. It is shown every day when the MTM marketing staff is helping a member with a question and when MTM accounting staff are problem solving for members. All of these staff skills are highlighted even more when we are in a disruptive period caused by COVID. The MTM staff knows that if our members are open, MTM is open.
Not long ago, I was reporting that at my 7 year anniversary, I was still MTM’s newest hire. That says a lot about MTM staffing and stability. What the statement did not cover is that in the background we had 2 temporary staff members working on projects. They are Melanie English and Djon Ljuljdjuraj. After 5 years of temporary work, I made the leap that they have earned the badge to be an MTM employee. With some of the present MTM staff members close to possible retirement, preparing for the next generation of staff makes sense. After 5 years, we are positive that Melanie and Djon have the MTM DNA. Rather than me tell you about Melanie and Djon, please see their comments below.
My name is Djon L. and I started as a Project Intern back in 2014 at MTMIC, and I am proud to still be part of the team today as the Account Executive. I am a recent graduate from the University of Michigan in Dearborn with a BBA, Majoring in Finance. Over the years at MTM I have been responsible for facilitating new business, out of state quotes as well as Association policies with the Marketing Department. I have also been assisting Finance and Accounting with payment processing, billing, data security, and in-force policy management. All of which have prepared me in my new role to best be able to serve our customers.
When I’m not at MTM, you can find me spending time with family, cleaning my car, or playing with my dog Rocky! I hope you all have a great 2020 Holiday and a safe and productive 2021. I am excited to meet more of you as soon as things start to get back to normal!
My name is Melanie and I work in the background and rarely have direct contact with MTM members. With that said I have been with MTM for over 5 years, so let me tell you about myself.
The MTM staff runs lean by design, so I was initially brought on as a part time contractor to work on special projects, as well as the MTM business plans/goals and help out with the licensing for our out-of-state coverage. I have also trained and continue training to be the backup underwriter in case of a staff emergency. My past experience includes working as an insurance company underwriter, an administrator in association management, and as the Human Resources Administrator for a manufacturing company.
In 2015 MTM launched the Loss Portfolio Transfer (LPT) Program to assist companies converting FROM a selfinsured workers’ compensation program to a regular insurance program. One of my primary responsibilities is to manage this MTM program.
You may have met me at an MTM Annual Meeting. If not, please say hello to me at the next one!
I would say welcome them aboard, except they have been on board for over 5 years. Now you will just see and hear from them more often.
Until next month, be safe.
