Please vote on November 8th – AND ALSO in the next week or so, when you receive the MTMIC Board ballot. The MTMIC Board is made up of 10 men and women from Michigan. They represent you and all MTMIC members. The Board members are shop owners, CEOs, CFOs, HR directors, and VPs. They work in shops that are small, medium, and large. They are dedicated to making sure that the company and the management act in the best interest of our member owners. Every September, members vote for three or four board members for the next 3-year terms. In this year’s election, you are voting for four individuals. The incumbents running for re-election are:

  • Jack Accardo – Jack is the CFO of Haller Industries. Not only is he a present MTMIC Board member, but he is also Chairman of the Board Finance Committee.
  • Kurt Heuser – Kurt is the President/CEO of Bokum Tool. He is presently Chairman of the Board for MTMIC.
  • Joe Keppler, CPA – Joe is the CFO of HTI Cyberneties. He is presently the Vice Chairman of the MTMIC Board.
  • Karen Schluckebier, SPHR, SHRM-SCP – Karen is the Director of Human Resources for the Rogers Group with human resources responsibilities for StageRight, Filcon, Rogers Athletic, Tranquil Systems International Rogers Group Trucking, and Pioneer Works located in Clare, MI. Ms. Schluckebier has been with the Rogers Group since 1999.

Please vote and return the ballot in the self-addressed envelope. Voting takes only seconds.

A noteworthy Board change early in 2016 came when the Board authorized a Board Finance Committee. The goal of this committee is to go DEEP into the company MTMIC finances and provide management with direction and feedback. After just three meetings this year, the committee has already proven their value.

This committee is made up of two Board members and three members at large. The committee includes:

  • Jack Accardo, Board member, Chairman of the Finance Committee
  • Jerry Decker, Board member
  • Gerd Walters, VP, Creative Automation
  • Gary Sievert, Director of Human Resources, Wellington Industries
  • Teena Kowalski, Corporate Controller, LOC Performance Products

In the Board Resolution to start the Board Finance Committee, they also authorized a marketing/underwriting committee to begin in the spring of 2017. We are in the process of forming that committee and I will provide you updates on that later. In the meantime, please vote November 8th and now for your MTMIC Board members.

Lastly, remember the MTMIC annual members meeting is Wednesday, October 19th, at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth. I hope that I will see you there.
